I was talking with my friend Jen and I had an epiphany -- I'm really not doing everything I can to get published. I've posted (here I think, though I'm not 100% sure) about my thoughts on having my own work fanficced. My concerns were always about whether I would lose my rights, and this post (in the Making Light Fanfic Thread of Doom) by Patrick Nielsen Hayden (who is in a position to Know Whereof He Speaks) pretty much lays my concerns to rest.
